Your Featured Locations settings screen provides configuration controls for your Featured Location Widgets, Featured Location Pages, and Featured Location List Pages

To access your Featured Locations settings, log into your iHOUSEweb admin menu, click Settings, then click Featured Locations.

Once some locations have been configured, they'll appear in an alphabetical list. To edit a location, simply click on the link text for that row. Click the X to delete a location, and all references to that location in any list pages, content blocks, and widgets will be removed as well. If you've added a link to the page in any custom content, you'll need to delete that manually. Click "Add Location" to configure a new featured location.

When you create a new widget or list page, they will be populated by the current list of featured locations in these settings. Once a widget or list page is saved, the locations are locked in. If you add more locations to these settings later on, you'll need to also go and adjust those widgets as well to add in your new locations.

Your Default Location Settings apply a global definition for all the following fields. For example, if a Featured Location does not have an image, it will pull a default image from these settings.

Favorite Locations Order

A subset of your Featured Locations can be marked as favorites. The list of favorites can be sorted manually by dragging.

Favorites are used for Flex block widgets and Featured Location Link Groups.

Clicking the "More" button expands the menu to change the Location Name and add Nearby Cities.

Additionally you may choose to use Special Location Types to act in place of the normal location. Use a Map Location to pinpoint a particular area or select a School District. Map and School Districts take precedence over the "Custom" Location Types. The "Custom" location types that will differ depending on which MLS boards are attached to your account. For our MLS Board the available custom types are "Areas" and "Districts".

Expanding the Advanced settings gives you the option to override the card/tile widget image to be different than the above default. This is particularly useful when the main image does look good when it is cropped to fit the profile orientation that is used for cards and tiles.

Disabling default links will allow you to insert custom links that will appear on your cards/tiles, such as IDX Search Results pages and Market Report pages. These links can be resorted after creation simply by clicking and dragging in the order desired.

Click the "Add Link" button and a sidebar window will open. set the Link Text and choose the link by clicking the "Link to" button.

Page Settings

Set the page name, and edit the URL. Expanding the advanced settings allows you to edit the meta title and description. The advanced settings also allows you to toggle the visitor registration form prompt and choose if the registration form should allow the user to close without submitting or force the user to submit the form.

Page Content

Choose a masthead format for the page heading. Switching from "Default" to "Yes" will show an expandable Advanced menu where you can set header image to be different from your card/tile image. Selecting "No" will remove the header image from appearing at the top of the page.

Selecting "Use default content" will use predefined content for your Featured Locations Pages. Unchecking this box will remove the predefined content and allow you to add in your own layout. You can copy over the content set in your Default Location Settings by clicking the "Copy Default Content" button.

Clicking the "Add Block Here" button, will open a dropdown menu where you can input many different types of content. Our article on Page Content gives a more detailed explanation and preview for each of these blocks.

Content blocks will appear in a list based on the last item added. You can click and drag a block into the desired position after adding it. Some content blocks are allowed to have sub-items which are indicated by the indented blocks. Clicking on the arrow to the left of the title will collapse or expand the elements contained within the content block.

Clicking the Copy button on a block will make a duplicate of that block. Clicking Edit will open up a sidebar window to adjust your content to edit the content name, text, margins, custom content blocks, and listings filters. The edit window will also highlight the item being currently edited in the list of content.

Clicking the Edit button on a block will allow you to edit that block. There are different Edit options for each type of content. For example, the listing carousel has options to toggle auto play, set the delay (in seconds), and more.
